On May 31 (May 30 local time), ESPN and The Athletic reported that Drew Gordon (33), the older brother of Aaron Gordon, who plays for the Denver Nuggets, died in a car accident in Portland, Oregon. Gordon, from San Jose, California, played for two years at UCLA and the University of New Mexico as a 206 cm, 111 kg forward. He was not selected in the 2012 NBA draft, and after playing in Serbia and other countries, he signed a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in the fall of 2014. He played in nine games as a member of the 76ers in the 2014-15 season, averaging 7.9 minutes, 1.9 points and 2.0 rebounds. He then played in France, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, and Ukraine, and in the 2022-23 season, he also played for the Rising Zephyr Fukuoka in Japan's B League and announced his retirement in July 2023. Drew Gordon has played basketball in many countries around the world. We pray for his soul to rest in peace.
